L'Istituto d’Istruzione Superiore "Verona-Trento" di Messina è stato selezionato dalla CISCO Systems, come ACADEMY nell'ambito del programma CISCO Certified Networking
Questo consente agli alunni di entrambi gli istituti di conseguire, alla fine di un corso di studi curriculare di 240 ore, il titolo di Cisco Certified Networking Academy
Graduate, che copre il 100% di corso della certificazione CCNA, ottenibile con un ulteriore esame. E' un passo in più nell'ottica della certificazione di competenza che si va sempre più diffondendo, in ambito europeo, come requisito fondamentale nel mondo del lavoro.
I corsi per la certificazione sono rivolti anche ad esterni, con modalità ibrida (parte a distanza e parte in presenza). I contenuti del corso coprono il 100 % della certificazione CCNA e circa il 70 % della CCDA. Superato l’esame finale si consegue il titolo di Cisco Networking Academy Program Graduate e, se il candidato lo desidera, potrà anche conseguire la certificazione CCNA - Cisco Certified Networking Associate effettuando una prova presso un qualunque centro Prometrics o Vue.
Le attività a distanza consistono, essenzialmente, nello studio del materiale multimediale "curriculum CISCO" messo a disposizione degli inscritti al corso e nello svolgimento di attività assegnate dall’istruttore: piccoli progetti, esercizi e relazioni scritte. L’impegno per portare a termine le attività a distanza è stimato su cinque ore a settimana. Le attività in presenza sono obbligatorie in quanto finalizzate allo sviluppo di skills indispensabili per operare nel Networking. Comprendono inoltre la tutoria, gli approfondimenti tecnici, gli esami e le attività pratiche (costruzione e verifica di cavi, cablaggio strutturato, configurazione di router, switch, progettazione reti e troubleshooting).
Le attività in presenza sono da quattro a 18 ore la settimana, presso l'I.I.S. "Verona-Trento" di Messina, a partire dal mese di febbraio. La partecipazione al corso è subordinata al superamento di un TEST di ingresso atto a valutare i prerequisiti che sono: buona conoscenza dell'inglese tecnico scritto e una sufficiente preparazione tecnica di base in Informatica e Telecomunicazioni.
IT Essentials - Fondamenti di Informatica e Reti
Il corso fornisce le conoscenze necessarie per comprendere i principi di funzionamento di un Personal Computer e delle reti informatiche. Lo studente imparerà ad assemblare un Personal Computer, a installare e configurare un sistema operativo Windows, a valutare e attuare aggiornamenti hardware e software, ad installare periferiche esterne, a riconoscere gli apparati di rete, i protocolli in uso nelle reti di PC e a comprenderne il funzionamento, ad effettuare analisi sui malfunzionamenti e implementare soluzioni ai problemi rilevati.
Il corso indirizza gli studenti ad una professione nel mondo ICT, e prepara come tecnico di computer, assemblatore, e tecnico di help desk.

- EUCIP IT Administrator I (Hardware) e II (Sistemi operativi);
- EUCIP IT Administrator Fundamentals
- CompTIA A+
E’ inoltre un valido strumento propedeutico ai corsi Cisco CCNA.

CCNA Routing and Switching
The new CCNA Routing and Switching curriculum helps students prepare for entry-level career opportunities, continuing education, and the globally recognized Cisco CCENT and CCNA certifications.
CCNA Routing and Switching courses are designed to take advantage of the improved flexibility and course management capabilities in the Cisco NetSpace learning environment. This short video provides an introduction to the CCNA Routing and Switching curriculum and its features and functionality.

In addition to the courses, CCNA Routing and Switching bridging materials have been developed to address technical gaps in comprehension and help CCNA Discovery and CCNA Exploration students prepare for the new Cisco CCENT or CCNA Routing and Switching certification exam, or the new CCNA Routing and Switching courses.
Course Description
CCNA Routing and Switching includes seven courses, with four courses that make up the recommended course flow and three additional courses that support the transition of CCNA Exploration instructors and students to the new CCNA Routing and Switching curriculum. No transitional courses are needed for CCNA Discovery instructors and students.
Students will be prepared to take the Cisco CCENT exam after completing a set of two courses or the CCNA Routing and Switching exam after completing a set of four courses. The curriculum also helps students develop workforce readiness skills and builds a foundation for success in networking-related careers and degree programs.
In each course, students will learn technology concepts with the support of interactive media and apply and practice this knowledge through a series of hands-on and simulated activities that reinforce their learning.
Cisco Packet Tracer activities allow students to model and analyze routing processes that may be difficult to visualize or understand, and to practice their skills within simulated networks. Quizzes, skills assessments, chapter exams, and practice exams provide additional feedback as students advance through the curriculum.
CCNA Routing and Switching teaches comprehensive networking concepts and skills, from network applications to the protocols and services provided to those applications by the lower layers of the network. Students will progress from basic networking to more complex enterprise and theoretical networking models later in the curriculum.
